The Town of Osmancık
/ By Josh
Set on a branch of the Silk Road trade route, the Town of Osmancık is home to the massive Koyunbaba Bridge, a high castle, and the tomb of a local mystic.
In the heart of Anatolia, with high mountains in every direction, is a wide rolling plain spotted with dormant volcanoes, mineral lakes, and a lengthy list of underground cities. While Central Anatolia may be best known for the fairy chimneys, hot air balloons, and cave hotels of Cappadocia the region has so much more to offer beyond the touristic hubs of Avanos and Göreme. The vast ruined capital of the Hittites, Neolithic settlements, the mausoleum of Rumi, bizarre geology, and, of course, even more underground cities everywhere you look are just a few of the many reasons to explore this region!
