Hidden among the winding streets of ancient Istanbul, Rüstem Paşa Mosque is fine example of Ottoman architecture and Iznik tilework from the golden age of the Ottoman Period.
Famous as one of history’s greatest cities full of the remnants of wealth, pomp, and power of past empires Istanbul is truly a city like no other. Not only is it a mecca for history buffs and museum lovers, Istanbul is also the heart of Turkey’s growing modern scene with bohemian neighborhoods full of coffee shops and modern art galleries, music and nightlife. Some historical neighborhoods that had been falling into disrepair have become havens of the young, hip, and moneyed, offering music, drink, and boutique hotels amidst the unique architecture of the late Ottoman empire. And while Istanbul is a city it is also a province full of rolling hills, sandy beaches, lush forests, farmland, lakes, streams, and quaint villages that sit well beyond the scope of the average tourist. A life time of exploring isn’t enough to experience all that this amazing place has to offer!
