The province of Antakya (Also referred to as Hatay) is a seaside province famous for an incredible history including the classical city of Antioch, where the term ‘Christian’ was first coined. Over time Antioch would become the home of many peoples and religions as empires came and went. Today Antakya prides itself on it’s inclusive and metropolitan character where numerous religious groups live together in peace and harmony.
Antakya is home to amazing historical sights, beautiful museums, sandy Mediterranean beaches, numerous churches, and the shrines of numerous Islamic saints. To top it off the Antakya is also famous for a long list of incredible foods drawing from the culinary traditions of the many peoples that call the region home.
