With beautiful nature and a wealth of unique historic sites the Province of Bursa has loads to offer the traveller looking to take a foreigner-friendly detour off the beaten track. Take your pick of sunbathing along the Marmara coast in a village surrounded by centuries old olive orchards or ski the powder of Uludağ mountain. The Bursa countryside is full of forest covered hills and mountains with walking trails leading you through leafy forests to rivers and waterfalls.
It was also here that a small kingdom under the leadership of Osman Gazi began to grow into the Ottoman Empire, one of the greatest powers of its time. In the city of Bursa and scattered throughout the countryside you can find the monuments tombs and great mosques.
